Thriving in a rapidly changing world

Trends to harness and grow in the age of technological disruption.

In 2023, businesses must venture into new technological territories, navigating the uncharted waters of innovation like never before.
Market instability and the rise of empowered consumers will push industries and organizations to create breakthrough solutions, building flexible paths that will secure their longevity during both disruptive and calmer periods.
Discover four trends that will empower your organization to successfully navigate and excel in this disruptive era.

The power dynamics of AI are changing rapidly,

as major shifts in privacy and ownership will create a ripe environment for the public to utilize AI tools more for themselves rather than wait for companies to provide official platforms.

The paradigm shift will continue, where people realize that AI isn’t a set of specific technologies that they use once in a while but rather the foundation of their everyday lives. Companies that don’t adapt to the public’s usage of AI will be at a disadvantage.

"We call AI whatever is shiny and not the techniques, approach, or value we get from it. How you can incorporate these AI tools will be very valuable instead of trying to perfectly replace a person’s job."

AI will contribute to inclusivity

We’ll continue hearing about shiny generative AI tools such as Midjourney and GPT-3.

However, the public is in a transitional period where they still think of AI as a separate bespoke technology. AI has been so ubiquitous that people don’t realize they are constantly exposed to it, from recommendations in media and shopping to supply chain routing, autocorrect, and Google itself.
Our everyday roles are embedded within AI systems, with their value coming from helping improve complex decision-making. But AI is more of a role changer versus a job replacer. AI output is a solid starting point but not the end result, augmenting complex jobs that still require human expertise.

Every industry will be impacted by the metaverse and gaming

Which way will it go?

We believe some signs point to the mass adoption of metaverse. Major players in the metaverse space, such as Meta, pushing towards a viable product in 2023 will open the door to reduced costs and lower barriers to entry, allowing the technology to reach more businesses and impact people’s lives worldwide.

"What I do know is that metaverse today is what the internet was in the early 2000s, or late 90's. We're making the first steps on something that will change a paradigm of how we live digital experiences."

Expanding the use of NFTs

Organizations are looking for new ways to access consumers who demand experiences connecting the virtual world with the real world.
In 2023, the use of non-fungible tokens (NFTs) is expected to become more nuanced, personalized, and commercial as the Web3 ecosystem moves past the “jpeg” era of NFTs, characterized by low utility digital art projects. NFTs will be used in a broader range of applications, and the term “NFT” will no longer automatically refer to digital art.
Major brands are already exploring the potential uses of NFTs, and if successful, other brands will likely release NFT rewards points. In addition, the “phygital” trend, where digital receipts accompany physical purchases, is expected to rise in popularity.

We believe the concept of fast code, enabled by low-code and no-code tools, will be at the forefront of technology for organizations continuing their digital transformation despite unpredictable environmental factors.
Approaches like Super Apps will allow companies to keep up with ever-changing technology while keeping an integrated approach to customer experience. Additionally, with staffing models evolving, the need for systems and processes to quickly make sense of the existing code base will also come into play.
